MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) RV City was unusually quiet Monday morning. Revelers were recuperating from Mardi Gras festivities this weekend.

Wet beads, beer cans and cigarette butts decorated the RV City, all signs of a good time from the night before.

"Most of all the crews right here paraded yesterday in the rain, and they're recuperating right now for sure," said camper Duffy Coleman.

Some have called it the calm before the storm, but soon RV City will be bustling with music, drinks, and food again.

"People in every square, people are cooking and the camaraderie, you know you want something to eat (They say) Hey come grab something," said Coleman.

There were a few campers up and about. Local 15 found the Flemings.

This is the sixth year they have camped in Mobile's RV City for Mardi Gras.

Bruce Fleming said there is nothing like celebrating.

"It's like having a little home down here. You come down and spend all day or two days or three days, how ever long you want to," said Flemings.

Saturday and Sunday night's festivities may have slowed down some revelers this morning, but many say the rain will not hinder their plans for Fat Tuesday.

"We got wet, but all the people were still there. And all the people had a good time," said Fleming.

"It pretty much stays dry underneath here. Yeah, we get the bridge so we're lucky," said Coleman.
