MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) When the Infant Mystics rolled downtown Monday night, we discovered Stacy Tatum from Elberta and her family right there against the barricade.

She had invented a strange but ingenious device to catch parade throws, a lighted net and target on a long, metal pole.

It turns out Stacey is a very inventive person. Because when the Tatums returned for Fat Tuesday she was sporting another invention.

Perched on her head was a tall, sparkling, cone shaped Carnival hat!

It was constructed of wire and who knows what, and it elevated her to new heights of carnival fashion. It could be next year's big thing.

But it turns out Stacey wasn't the only person to take our Local 15 Costume Challenge.

Courtney from Biloxi sported spectacular tights. Two young ladies from Citronelle draped themselves in the flag, the Mardi Gras flag, that is!

Ms. Henderson of Mobile? Kudos to you for sheltering your friends from Los Angeles with your decorated second line umbrella.

Ingenious!

The Reeds from New Orleans brought their game to the port city, wearing feathery hats and masks and carrying a purple dinosaur.

But Doug Hus from Semmes? Our holiday hat is off to you, as you took our advice and then ramped it up a notch!

A hot dog hat? We declare you the weiner!
